Why I Write

WHY I WRITE…….

My hands flow free, as I pen my thought
Fluently they go
All the words come back to me,
Ordering the flow

I romance every single line
Each word I write with care
Of love, sorrow, happiness, valor
Of magic and despair

A strange world I enter
As the pages go on and on
Of dreams, hopes and melodies
Singing my soul song

Of everything that I think of
Of everything I dream
My thoughts a tangled mass sometimes
Sometimes a flowing stream

And in this world I seek refuge
A world that’s only mine
A world filled with happiness
A world truly divine

We Are One

WE ARE ONE

She stood in front of the painting in the large gallery. Looking at it made her feel like crying, it was so beautiful. The colors swirled into one another and the mood of the painting was so poignant, it made her think of…………

The vast horizon on which sat the shining sun,

As all the brilliant colors mixed together as one.

It was not a Vincent Van Gogh or a Picasso to say the least,

But it nonetheless was beautiful its presence spoke of peace.

There was no doubt that it had taken lots of time,

Since every color known to man seemed to inter-wine.

The colors merged together and beautifully swirled,

Resembling all the colored people who make up this wonderful world.

We must realize that everybody is unique,

And we should respect each other, whether we are strong or weak.

Since racism destroys the beauty in us all,

And now is the time we must take a call.

Because racism is a problem each of us must face,

Working all as one before it is much too late.

And with open eyes and open hearts,

We must see the person not their skin.

And come to the understanding,

That racism has to end.

Because we all have hearts and feel pain too,

And fighting over colors is a destructive thing to do.

Childrens Eyes

Children’s Eyes

Children’s eyes are beautiful,

They know what is true.

They see good in everyone,

And see bad in very few.

They look up to their elders,

And cherish what they get.

They are happy with what they see,

And never do they fret.

They are like little spies,

God has sent from above

Always teaching how to forgive,

And how to always love!!!

Come and Dream with Me

Come Dream With Me

Come and dream with me,

In a world you cannot see.

A world hidden deep down inside your soul,

Which is not visible to anyone at all.

A world where there is peace everywhere,

A world where everything is fair.

A world where the sky doesn’t have to be blue,

A world where everything is too good to be true.

A world where there’s nature all around,

A world that is with happiness bound.

A world where you’re completely free,

Come and dream with me.

Hunger Games

The Hunger Games

My heart thumped, as the crowd jeered
The time had come to face what I feared
I took a deep breath and focused my aim
And I watched as the arrow flew

I thought of Prim, her sincere smile,
I thought of Gale, his gaze intense on mine
I thought of my mother healing all wounds
And I watched as the arrow flew

Thoughts and images whirled in my head,
A mixture of fear, anticipation and dread
The horror of the moment hit me hard
And I watched as the arrow flew

I thought of the Capitol, stealing all my rights
I knew it was the time to put up a fight
The District’s glory lay in my hand
And I watched as the arrow flew

A burning anger, a fire rose
Giving me the strength to stand and oppose
What I found wrong, what I found unjust.
And I watched as the arrow flew

Finally with a reverberating sound
The arrow hit the destination bound
The Game makers’ faces were filled with shock
And with hope in my heart I knew,

A day will come when we’ll be free
And no longer caged in misery
A day when the Mocking jay will sing
Yes, I’ll watch as my dreams come true.

Change

Change

The horizon was a lovely shade of pink,
the sun no longer visible in the sky
I  looked at it in awe and wonder
A million years passing by....

Thought and images whirled in my head
Pensively I lay
Thinking of my forgotten past,
No longer burdened with worries of today

I remembered my twinkling laughter
As I danced, wild and carefree
No deadlines, submissions or exams
I was just simply me

No branded clothes and gadgets
No fancy cars to school
No need to change everything
Just to be cool

And as I lay thinking
I realised suddenly
That no matter what you want to be
It's up to society

Death

Death

A scream of horror escaped my throat. It was chasing me. I was scared. "Somebody help me" I cried, but nobody heard. I was all alone, alone in the dark. It was right behind me, it had caught up. I was scared, scared to Death. Death, that word sounded familiar. Where had I heard it? Then suddenly everything came rushing back to me, the fire, the screams, the funeral. I let out a cry of despair as the reality of the situation sunk in. I would be trapped in this dark abyss forever. Running, running, running.......................

Happiness

Happiness

When she laughed
the whole world seemed radiant
When she danced
the sky would illuminate in her footsteps
When she sang
Even the birds stopped to listen
She was joy, love, art and passion
She was
Happiness

Orphan

Orphan
I lay weeping as I saw the triumphant flames burn everything I loved. I had never felt so lost. Now I had nobody in the world, I was an orphan. I trudged on the streets, begging for food whenever a car stopped. But nobody cared. I spent months like this, starving in hunger, pain and anger gripping my heart. But nobody came...........
One day I couldn't take it anymore, I had defeated Death too many times. I huddled up in the corner, thinking of all the good moments I had once shared with my family. Slowly, I let go of my life and entered a world of light..............

Summer

Summer
She  caressed the deep blue sea
Sweetly, calmly
Her fingers ran softly through the sun kissed sand
Her eyes shone like rays of the sun
And she spread laughter and warmth

Her feet danced to the rhythm of love
Happiness and joy
And  as she slowly rose
A season of warmth, love, happiness, joy and fire began
The season of
Summer

To Kill A Mockingbird

TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD

Deep in the meadows
Faraway in the hill
Was a little mockingbird
Singing a melodious trill
It sang of freedom
It sang of care and love
Hoping that the Almighty
Might bestow these from above
Slowly his trill
Turned to cries of despair
As he remained bound by cruelty
In a world unjust and unfair
As he lay dying
He was still not heard
And yet again all of us
Killed a Mockingbird

The Mask

The Mask

Her mask stood out from the rest. It was red and white with a black lining. It was very simple, yet it showed beauty, elegance and depth, all at the same time. Red symbolized the power, determination, anger, passion and desire she felt. White showed the joy, goodness and innocence of her soul. And black, the most profound colour showed the mystery and depth of her life. The mask was beautiful, simply beautiful.
